The College of Engineering/Musayyab was established in 2014 by ministerial order, its one of the University of Babylon's formations, following continuous efforts by scientific competencies and residents of the Al-Musayyib district, as well as the direct support of Mr President of University of Babylon, Dr Adel Hadi Al-Baghdadi, and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Al-Musayyib is the second largest district after Tal Afar because of its engineering and industrial potential.

The College of Engineering at Al-Musayyib participated in a training program for administrative leaders and human resources at the University of Babylon. The program aimed to develop and qualify human resources leaders under the government program "Development and Qualification of University Leaders and Human Resources." The program included workshops and practical applications on administrative excellence, strategic planning, and time management. The university's central committee provided periodic reports to the Ministry of Higher Education on the program's progress.
