About Faculty of Engineering / Musayyab
The College of Engineering/Musayyab was established in 2014 by ministerial order, its one of the University of Babylon's formations, following continuous efforts by scientific competencies and residents of the Al-Musayyib district, as well as the direct support of Mr President of University of Babylon, Dr Adel Hadi Al-Baghdadi, and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Al-Musayyib is the second largest district after Tal Afar because of its engineering and industrial potential.
A prior study was done to create the college, and after visiting the ministerial committee specialized in uncovering the location and human and material potential, His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research approved creating the college for the 2014/2015 academic year in its two branches the Department of Energy Engineering and Automotive Engineering, and including it in the Student's Guide for the 2014-2015 academic year. Thus, the Dean of the College appreciates all those who directly and indirectly contributed to the construction of this academic and scientific edifice , in Al-Musayyib, which benefits the district's citizens and adjacent industrial firms.
From July to December 2013, Dr. Najm Abdul Amir Al-Lubawi was appointed Dean of the college. In January-May 2014, Dr. Saad Talib Al-Jubouri was appointed Dean of the college. In May 2014, Dr. Ali Abdul Amir Al-Zubaidi was appointed as College Dean till July 2018.
Afterwards, the President of the University appointed us, to conduct the work of the College from 23 July 2018, after which the Ministerial Order entrusted us as Dean of the College on 17 December 2019.
University of Babylon's presidency has been keen to develop scientific and technological competence, infrastructure at every level.
Faculty of Engineering departments / Musayyab
1.Energy Engineering Department
The Energy Engineering Department of the College of Engineering - University of Babylon / Al-Musayyib - was founded in 2014-2015, and students began enrolling in this academic year. This department was established to meet the demand for power Engineering branches(electrical, steam, renewable, nuclear, fossil energy, and natural energy, which includes solar and wind, of which the country has large quantities, especially solar). The college was established in the district of Musayyib, which is located in the northern province of Babylon.
2.Engineering Automotive department
This department studies electrical and electronic sciences, security and safety, and design for learning about vehicles, trucks, buses, and bike engineering systems. The study of automotive engineering at the university level covers the design of cars and other vehicles, including stages of design, manufacture, and production, vehicle mechanics, driving level development, vehicle performance and work, and durability, safety, and security testing. In the latter two years of education, students design and build a mechanical vehicle, which they carry out in the fourth year.
