The College of Engineering/Musayyab was established in 2014 by ministerial order, its one of the University of Babylon's formations, following continuous efforts by scientific competencies and residents of the Al-Musayyib district, as well as the direct support of Mr President of University of Babylon, Dr Adel Hadi Al-Baghdadi, and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Al-Musayyib is the second largest district after Tal Afar because of its engineering and industrial potential.

The College of Engineering in Al-Musayyib sent a delegation of its staff and students to Al-Zawraa General Company, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, to learn about the company's laboratories and electrical workshops. The visit aimed to transfer the knowledge and experience gained to the college's students and staff to benefit from it practically. The delegation included the college's assistant dean for scientific affairs, as well as several engineers and technicians
