The College of Engineering/Musayyab was established in 2014 by ministerial order, its one of the University of Babylon's formations, following continuous efforts by scientific competencies and residents of the Al-Musayyib district, as well as the direct support of Mr President of University of Babylon, Dr Adel Hadi Al-Baghdadi, and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Al-Musayyib is the second largest district after Tal Afar because of its engineering and industrial potential.

The College of Engineering in Musayyib held a special celebration to mark the appointment of contract employees and the retirement of a number of its employees. The ceremony was attended by faculty and staff members of the college. The Dean of the College, Dr. Wissam Jalil Khudair, gave a speech in which he expressed his thanks and appreciation to the permanent employees and praised their efforts and what they provided to the College during the contract period. He also congratulated the retired employees, wishing them a happy life and lasting health. In conclusion, gifts and certificates of appreciation were presented to permanent and retired employees.
